As one of the earliest independent dramatists in China in the post-Mao era, he has long been based on the idea of civil society, initiating and hosting several folk art groups, pan-theater spaces, and art festivals. He devotes himself to socio-theatrical actions in the hope of transforming lives. In 2005, he participated in the creation of the independent artists&#8217; consensus group\u2014<em>Zuhe Niao<\/em>\u00a0(Teaser Association), where he presented his creative works of anarchist dramatic performances, ranging from dance theater, physical theater, and installation performance to forum theater and conceptual theater, which continue to influence the resistance culture of the younger generation.
